BitPim -

BitPim is a program that allows you to view and manipulate data on many CDMA (Code division multiple access) phones from LG, Samsung, Sanyo and other manufacturers. This includes the PhoneBook, Calendar, WallPapers, RingTones (functionality varies by phone) and the Filesystem for most Qualcomm CDMA chipset based phones. BitTorrent -

BitTorrent is a free torrent client program used for file sharing.

Blender -

Blender is a free open source 3D content creation suite.

BlueScreenView -

BlueScreenView scans all your minidump files created during 'blue screen of death' crashes, and displays the information about all crashes in one table. For each crash, BlueScreenView displays the minidump filename, the date/time of the crash, the basic crash information displayed in the blue screen (Bug Check Code and 4 parameters), and the details of the driver or module that possibly caused the crash (filename, product name, file description, and file version). For each crash displayed in the upper pane, you can view the details of the device drivers loaded during the crash in the lower pane. BlueScreenView also mark the drivers that their addresses found in the crash stack, so you can easily locate the suspected drivers that possibly caused the crash.

Boot Snooze -

With Boot Snooze you can shut down your computer, performing a full reboot, and then Boot Snooze puts it back into hibernation or standby mode. So you gain the benefits of a reboot and still start quickly out of hibernation. You can also add your favourite morning apps to run at Startup.

Carroll -

You can use the program Carroll to set a different screen resolution for every user on the computer. After logon the screen resolution will be changed to the stored setting.

CCAuto Updater -

CCAuto updater is a free tool to automatically update CCleaner, Recuva, Defraggler and Speccy. With this tool you never have to download and install the new versions, CCAuto updater will do it for you. You can either run it manually, on schedule, or on start up. After CCAuto Updater has updated CCleaner it will let you know with a small balloontip message or prompt. CCAuto Updater also has the option to run CCleaner scheduled without any UAC (User account control) prompts. Another advantage of using CCAuto Updater is that the "Yahoo! Classic Shell -

Classic Shell is a collection of features that were available in older versions of Windows but not anymore. ClipCube -

ClipCube is a tiny clipboard history tool under development for Windows: it sits in the system tray, recording copied text for later use. Coolbarz -

CPU-Z is a freeware that gathers and displays information for you on some of the main devices of your system. EX: CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and System. See the link for full details on what is does.

CrystalDiskInfo - (portable edition)

NOTE: If the application starts up in the Japanese language. To change it to English, goto the rightmost toolbar option where it says (Language), then choose A-N, then English.

Open source hard disk monitoring -HDD/SSD utility software which supports S.M.A.R.T. Supports 7, available as a portable (no install or as an installer). Excellent, straightforward SMART data on your Hard Disk or SSD's health.

CSMenu -

CSMenu is a little application which acts like the classic start menu. It's designed for Windows 7, which doesn't have a classic start menu.

DAEMON Tools Lite -

NOTE: You may need to use Run as administrator with this program for it to run properly.

An advanced application for Microsoft Windows which provides optical media emulation. DAEMON Tools enables you to convert your physical CD/DVD discs into "virtual discs" so called "images". It also emulated up to 4 virtual CD/DVD drives, so you can mount (insert) and unmount (eject) images.

Daphne -

Daphne is a small (system tray) application for killing, controlling and debugging Windows' processes. It was born to kill a windows process and became almost a task manager replacement. You can kill a process by dragging the mouse over the windows, by right-clicking the process in the main process list, or by typing its name with the "Kill all by name" command. You can set a any window to be always on top, to be transparent, to be enable, et cetera. Although Daphne was born just to kill windows process. You can think of Daphne as a task manager replacement. Darik's Boot and Nuke -

Darik's Boot and Nuke ("DBAN") is a self-contained boot disk that securely wipes the hard disks of most computers. DBAN will automatically and completely delete the contents of any hard disk that it can detect, which makes it an appropriate utility for bulk or emergency data destruction.

Default Programs Editor -

Default Programs Editor is a powerful file association utility for Windows. It is a context menu editor, an autoplay editor, and default programs association editor; essentially, the settings in the "Default Programs" Control Panel page. It's a replacement for the "File Types" dialog in Windows XP, and brings some key features of TweakUI to Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Defraggler -

Piriform, the makers of CCleaner, Defraggler differs from other defrag tools on the market, by enabling you to quickly and simply defrag the files you want to, without having to only process the whole drive unless you want to. Simply run it, select the file defragment in seconds. You can also set Defraggler to run on a schedule.

Desk Drive -

Desk Drive solves a really annoying problem. You pop a USB thumb drive or DVD into your computer and then you have to open Window's Explorer and find the mapped drive or folder. Desk Drive adds a desktop icon pointing to the drive automatically. Remove the media and the shortcut goes away. Brilliantly simple and effective.

DeskPins -

DeskPins can be used to make any application topmost, that is, to keep it above all other windows. Just grab a pin from the DeskPins icon in the system notification area (a.k.a. taskbar tray) and click on any window. This functionality is identical to the "Always on Top" setting found in some programs. With DeskPins you can add this feature to any program!

DeskSave -

In Windows, when screen resolution changes, the order of the desktop icons very often gets mixed up. With DeskSave you can easily recover a previously saved icon layout either manually or automatically.

DesktopOK -

Dia -

Dia is roughly inspired by the commercial Windows program 'Visio,' though more geared towards informal diagrams for casual use. It can be used to draw many different kinds of diagrams. It currently has special objects to help draw entity relationship diagrams, UML diagrams, flowcharts, network diagrams, and many other diagrams. It is also possible to add support for new shapes by writing simple XML files, using a subset of SVG to draw the shape. It can load and save diagrams to a custom XML format (gzipped by default, to save space), can export diagrams to a number of formats, including EPS, SVG, XFIG, WMF and PNG, and can print diagrams (including ones that span multiple pages).

DiskCheckup -

PassMark DiskCheckup™ allows the user to monitor the SMART attributes of a particular hard disk drive. SMART (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) is a feature on a computer's hard disk for providing various monitoring indicators of disk reliability. If SMART is enabled on a hard disk, the system administrator can receive analytical information from the hard drive to determine a possible future failure of the hard drive. SMART monitors elements of possible long term drive failure, such as 'Spin Up Time', the number of start/stops, the number of hours powered on and the hard disk temperature.

DiskDigger -

DiskDigger can recover files from any type of media that your computer can read. This includes USB flash drives, memory cards (SD, CompactFlash, Memory Stick, etc), and of course your hard drive. The types of files that it recovers include photos, videos, music, documents, and many other formats. DiskDigger can even scan reformatted or badly formatted disks (disks to which Windows can’t assign a drive letter), and even disks with bad sectors. It bypasses the Windows file system drivers and scans your disk directly. Disk Space Fan -

Disk Space Fan (free version) is a disk space analysis tool for Windows. It helps you to free up disk space by quickly finding and deleting big, useless files. It displays disk space usage with a nice chart. You can navigate the folders easily with the chart. It is also intergrated with Windows Explorer to open, delete and browse files or folders.

Disk2vhd -

Disk2vhd is a "Windows Sysinternals" utility program that creates VHD (Virtual Hard Disk - Microsoft’s Virtual Machine disk format) versions of physical disks for use in Microsoft Virtual PC or Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machines (VMs). The difference between Disk2vhd and other physical-to-virtual tools is that you can run Disk2vhd on a system that’s online. Disk2vhd uses Windows’ Volume Snapshot capability, introduced in Windows XP, to create consistent point-in-time snapshots of the volumes you want to include in a conversion. You can even have Disk2vhd create the VHDs on local volumes, even ones being converted (though performance is better when the VHD is on a disk different than ones being converted).

DisplayFusion (Free version)-

Ditto -

Ditto is an extension to the standard windows clipboard. It saves each item placed on the clipboard allowing you access to any of those items at a later time. Ditto allows you to save any type of information that can be put on the clipboard, text, images, html, custom formats, .....

DNS Benchmark -

DNS (Domain Name Speed) Benchmark is a utility to determine the exact performance of local and remote DNS nameservers.

DPC Latency Checker -

The DPC Latency Checker tool determines the maximum Deferred Procedure Call (DPC) latency that occurs on your Windows system and thus enables you to check the real-time capabilities of your computer. DPC Latency Checker works independent of any external hardware.

DriverView -

DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description, version, product name, company that created the driver, and more.

DropIt -

A tiny, flexible, hard-working tool to automate sorting and filing data-files and folders.
When you need to organize files, DropIt can eliminate much of the drudgery of searching and manually opening folders and moving files around. You can configure DropIt to move, copy or compress your files and folders to specified destinations, based on file-names and/or file-types. You can even save sets of parameters in multiple Profiles for different purposes, projects, drives or computers. Drop a group of assorted files and/or folders on the floating DropIt image and it sorts them and sends them off to the folders you assigned. You should go do something enjoyable with the time you saved.

Duplicate cleaner -

Duplicate Cleaner is a program to help you organize the contents of your home hard drive or corporate network. Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET)

The Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET) is designed to help prevent hackers from gaining access to your system.

Software vulnerabilities and exploits have become an everyday part of life. Virtually every product has to deal with them and consequently, users are faced with a stream of security updates. For users who get attacked before the latest updates have been applied or who get attacked before an update is even available, the results can be devastating: malware, loss of PII, etc.

Security mitigation technologies are designed to make it more difficult for an attacker to exploit vulnerabilities in a given piece of software. EMET allows users to manage these technologies on their system and provides several unique benefits:

1. No source code needed: Until now, several of the available mitigations (such as Data Execution Prevention) have required for an application to be manually opted in and recompiled. EMET changes this by allowing a user to opt in applications without recompilation. This is especially handy for deploying mitigations on software that was written before the mitigations were available and when source code is not available.

2. Highly configurable: EMET provides a higher degree of granularity by allowing mitigations to be individually applied on a per process basis. There is no need to enable an entire product or suite of applications. This is helpful in situations where a process is not compatible with a particular mitigation technology. When that happens, a user can simply turn that mitigation off for that process.

3. Helps harden legacy applications: It’s not uncommon to have a hard dependency on old legacy software that cannot easily be rewritten and needs to be phased out slowly. Unfortunately, this can easily pose a security risk as legacy software is notorious for having security vulnerabilities. While the real solution to this is migrating away from the legacy software, EMET can help manage the risk while this is occurring by making it harder to hackers to exploit vulnerabilities in the legacy software.

4. Ease of use: The policy for system wide mitigations can be seen and configured with EMET's graphical user interface. There is no need to locate up and decipher registry keys or run platform dependent utilities. With EMET you can adjust setting with a single consistent interface regardless of the underlying platform.

5. Ongoing improvement: EMET is a living tool designed to be updated as new mitigation technologies become available. This provides a chance for users to try out and benefit from cutting edge mitigations. The release cycle for EMET is also not tied to any product. EMET updates can be made dynamically as soon as new mitigations are ready

The toolkit includes several pseudo mitigation technologies aimed at disrupting current exploit techniques. These pseudo mitigations are not robust enough to stop future exploit techniques, but can help prevent users from being compromised by many of the exploits currently in use. The mitigations are also designed so that they can be easily updated as attackers start using new exploit techniques.

FileASSASSIN -

Malwarebytes FileASSASSIN can eradicate any type of locked files from your computer. If you use a computer, you’ve probably come across at least one of the following messages:

Cannot delete file: Access is denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

The source or destination file may be in use.

The file is in use by another program or user.

File Hash Checker -

This simple tool will allow you to compute the MD5 and SHA1 hash of any file. It also allows you to check the computed hash against a database of known MD5 and SHA1.

FileBox eXtender -

FileBox enhances Windows by adding several advanced functions to the standard Open File and Save File dialog boxes. (Note that if a program uses its own "private" dialog boxes for these functions, you won't see the FileBox buttons.)

FileNote -

Icon Explorer -

Application for browsing, searching, extracting, and managing icons in/from files and libraries. This tool allows to manage icon libraries, standalone icons and executable that contains icons as resources. 32-bit icons and 256x256 sized icons are supported. It has a searching tool that searches specified path with directory recursion and examines any file if it contains any icon and then extracts it. Icons can be saved as icons, individual icon images, or bitmaps.

IconsExtract -

The IconsExtract utility scans the files and folders on your computer, and extract the icons and cursors stored in EXE, DLL, OCX, CPL, and in other file types. You can save the extracted icons to ICO files (or CUR files for cursors), or copy the image of a single icon into the clipboard.

If you also install the free program IconViewer with this one to add a "Icons" tab to the properties page of files, then you will then also be able to right click on a found icon in IconsExtract, right click on it, and click on "File Properties" to see the new "Icons" tab to easily be able to have more options of how to save the icon as a ICO , BMP, or PNG file.

Process Tamer -

When it sees a process that is overloading your cpu, it reduces the priority of that process temporarily, until its cpu usage returns to a reasonable level. System Restore Explorer -

Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox.

Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers.

Guest Additions for Windows, Linux and Solaris. VirtualBox has special software that can be installed inside Windows, Linux and Solaris virtual machines to improve performance and make integration much more seamless. Among the features provided by these Guest Additions are mouse pointer integration and arbitrary screen solutions (e.g. by resizing the guest window). There are also guest additions for OS/2 with somewhat reduced functionality.

Shared folders. Like many other virtualization solutions, for easy data exchange between hosts and guests, VirtualBox allows for declaring certain host directories as "shared folders", which can then be accessed from within virtual machines.

Virtual CloneDrive -

Virtual CloneDrive works and behaves just like a physical CD/DVD drive, however it exists only virtually. Image files generated with CloneDVD or CloneCD can be mounted onto a virtual drive from your hard-disk or from a network drive and used in the same manner as inserting them into a normal CD/DVD drive.

Virtual Router turns any Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2 Computer into a Wifi Hot Spot using Windows 7's Wireless Hosted Network (Virtual Wifi) technology.

VirtuaWin -

VirtuaWin is a virtual desktop manager for the Windows operating system. A virtual desktop manager lets you organize applications over several virtual desktops (workspaces).

VLC Media Player -

WhatInStartup -

The difference between Disk2vhd and other physical-to-virtual tools is that you can run Disk2vhd on a system that’s online. Disk2vhd uses Windows’ Volume Snapshot capability, introduced in Windows XP, to create consistent point-in-time snapshots of the volumes you want to include in a conversion. You can even have Disk2vhd create the VHDs on local volumes, even ones being converted (though performance is better when the VHD is on a disk different than ones being converted).
